In his speech to new University of Malta students, the new rector, Alfred Vella, mentioned that more than half of employers lamented the lack of the “proper use of English” among applicants for post-graduate positions.

We are English, educated to first degree or Master’s level and have been living in Malta for approximately half a year. May we, through this newspaper, offer our services voluntarily to the University to help remedy this situation in whatever capacity the University sees fit.

Hopefully, others will follow our example.
