Yet again another year has gone by and one of the most important issues affecting student life on campus has not been addressed.

University parking was, is and will be a recurring problem unless immediate action is taken.

Students are having to enter lectures 30, even 45 minutes late. What’s worse, they are having to park in San Ġwann and pass through that dreaded Wied Għollieqa which is especially dangerous during winter and where I have suffered twisted ankles and fractured wrists just to reach campus. Meanwhile, other students are having to walk via very dangerous roads to get to Tal-Qroqq mainly through Sliema, Gżira and the outer limits of San Ġwann.

There should be no excuses. Accessibility to University should be high on the agenda and this pantomime has to stop. Are we even prepared to neglect basic health and safety standards?

Next we’ll see students entering campus on crutches...
