I would like to attract Transport Malta’s attention to the danger posed to our lives when we use the four zebra crossings close to the peace monument situated between Mdina Road and Manuel Dimech Street, Qormi.
When walking across these zebra crossings one is endanger-ing his life because the roads consist of two lanes, and therefore one car stops to let you cross while the other car on the other lane drives on.
To avoid an accident pedestrians stop in the middle of the road. I appeal for something to be done, urgently, before a fatality occurs.
I suggest the installation of pelican lights and the narrowing of these roads to a single lane. I hope my plea does not fall on deaf ears. Please Transport Malta, take note.
