While watching the TV news and an item on divorce, my eight-year-old son asked his mother if the person we were watching on the screen wanted to marry again. I explained to him that we as Roman Catholics can only marry once, “till death do us part”. But my son taught me a lesson and he proved to me that it’s true that generations grow up with mixed ideas regarding marriage. We are still in the referendum campaign and we are already heading in that direction. I can imagine what may happen in the years to come.

Some say yes to divorce while others say no. It is always the same old story, yet we poor humans never learn and it will be like this till the end of time. We cannot even agree after watching a football match.

But He gave us the answer and said no to divorce. And He is Jesus Christ Superstar who lived with us till his death on the cross to save humanity. What more do I need and how can I challenge my only saviour? Now I have to choose: either the word of man with so many different opinions, or the one word of God. On May 28 I have the moral obligation to vote yes to divorce.
