18th-century Cottonera: A vibrant ‘Smart City’ open to the world
Carmel Vassallo, coordinator of the Mediterranean Maritime History Network will give a public lecture on how the towns of the Cottonera area, particularly Senglea and Cospicua, were the hub of Malta’s commerce in the early 18th century. The talk, which will be in Maltese, accompanied by an English-language powerpoint, will take place on Friday at 7pm at the Cottonera Resource Centre, St Edward Street, Vittoriosa (ex-Lorenzo Gafà Boys’ Secondary School Fortini.
Is Psychology a Cult Science?
Is Psychology a Cargo Cult Science? is the question that will be answered by Tomasz Witkowski, founder of the Polish Sceptics Club, on May 16 at 5pm at the Mediterranean Institute Room MDT 122 . Entrance is free.
Dr Witkowski is a psychologist and science writer who is specialised in debunking pseudoscience, particularly in the field of psychology, psychotherapy, and diagnosis. In 2010 he won the title Rationalist of the Year in Poland.
