A public lecture entitled Mental Problems, Sex and Crime will be held in the University’s Faculty for the Built Environment, Hall D, (BEN D), Msida campus, tomorrow from 6pm to 8pm by the Department of Criminology.

The speaker is Josanne Holloway, director, Adult Mental Health Services Directorate, Manchester.

Attendance is against payment of €10 for Criminology students and €15 for members of the public.

A Kuwaiti woman’s journey with literature

A pubic talk entitled My Journey with Literature: A Kuwaiti Woman’s Voice will be given by Haifa AlSanousi on Tuesday at 6.30pm at the University’s Archaeology centre by the Department of Oriental Studies in collaboration with the Maltese Oriental Society.

Short course on dementia for care-givers

A short basic course on dementia for care-givers will start on May 6 at the University Residence, Lija, organised by the University’s Department of Pathology in collaboration with Malta University Consulting Ltd.

The course is designed to provide caregivers, including family members, with basic knowledge and skills to care for people with dementia at home.

It consists of four sessions: Understanding dementia – facts and myths, by Dr Charles Scerri; Services for individuals with dementia and their caregivers, by Dr Stephen Abela; Improving dementia care-giving at home, by Dr Abela; and Understanding and dealing with changes in behaviour at home, by Prof. David Mamo.
