Teachers were not being guided on how to benefit from reduced parental tax rates, their trade union said.

Guidance was being offered in several private companies and government departments but the educational authorities had no such arrangements in place, the Malta Union of Teachers said, calling for this to be remedied.

A spokesman from the Education Ministry said guidance on tax rates was given on request to interested teachers on an individual basis.
