Threats of industrial action at Air Malta have been withdrawn, following assurances given to the General Workers’ Union that talks on the airline’s restructuring process would continue.

Earlier this month, the union had declared an industrial dispute, complaining that the management had left the post of human resources manager vacant.

The GWU had argued that this post was crucial for the continuation of the airline’s restructuring process which had been in the offing for years.

However, the union yesterday issued a statement saying that the dispute was over, as it had been given the necessary assurances from the management.
