IM Beck said (December 17) that since Joseph Muscat and Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi appeared on TV accompanied by their young children, these same children are now “part of the political game” and “fair game”.

“Fair game two-year-old twin girls whom IM Beck refers to – oh, so elegantly – as “the Prancing Princesses”.

This came to mind when, a few days ago, I received a Christmas card from Minister Tonio Fenech.

Since (perhaps to my loss) I am neither a friend nor even an acquaintance of Minister Fenech, I can only regard this card as political PR.

The interesting thing is that it carries a photo of the minister together with his wife and two young children.

So does that make them “fair game” and permit me to refer to them, perhaps, as the “Posturing Progeny” or the “Simpering Spouse”?

I think not. Not even my (admittedly) ardent desire to see my party in power will make me descend to certain vile depths.

Others, apparently, see things in a different light.
