I have just returned from Malta to Manchester flying Air Malta. I was sitting in row 7 of an A319 aircraft. I am 5 feet 11 inches tall with an inside leg measurement of 32 inches (which is a regular trouser leg size).
I had to suffer with the seat in front of me pressing on my knees for the duration of the flight. I am just grateful that the passenger in front did not recline the seat.
I know that Air Malta have recently made available for a premium price the emergency exit seats that have more leg room but the leg space on all seating used to be sufficient enough for me and at 52 years of age I don’t think that I have started to grow again.
For the last six years I have been and I still am a regular (monthly) visitor to Malta and Air Malta was my preferred airline. However, both Ryanair and Easyjet now have a greater seat pitch enabling their passengers a more comfortable seat. I shall be advising my family and friends to avoid if possible travelling on Air Malta due to the ridiculous space afforded to passengers travelling in a standard economy seat.
