In the news item entitled ‘NGOs have mixed view on Engerer conviction’ (May 12), Malta Gay Rights Movement head Gabi Calleja beat about the bush when Times of Malta asked her whether Cyrus Engerer should have been sacked as chairman of (government consultative) LGBT council.

Instead of repeating the obvious, she should have publicly approved Engerer’s criminal conviction in solidarity with the victim (his ex-boyfriend).
