Taking a little slice of home with you when moving abroad is something many do to stem homesickness but that little swig of Malta in a bottle, better known as Kinnie, is now available at the click of a mouse. A pack of 12 bottles of 500ml each is available by logging in on Amazon UK and will be delivered free to UK residents, something Farsons hope will boost sales.

Although the move was welcomed by the Maltese Culture Movement, its president, Bernard Scerri, was quick to point out that Kinnie had been available for a “long long time” in the UK. In fact, the movement, which he set up in 1998, sold Kinnie and most other items made in Malta or inherently Maltese, like pastizzi (cheesecakes), and other food items, he said.
