The Union Ħaddiema Magħqudin is holding the hospital management legally responsible for unprocessed blood resulting from lack of identification.

The union said it had issued directives to paramedic aides, allowing them to process blood at the Emergency Department and in wards.

The blood samples were identified with labels. However, the management recently ordered labels not to be issued and, as a result, tests could not be identified.

This undermined patients’ health, the union said.
