We have had the pleasure of being guests in Malta for a week now and write to say a big “thank you” for the wonderful time we have been having.

We have enjoyed Gozo, shopped in the market at Marsaxlokk, taken a harbour cruise, improved our history at the War Museum (picture) and gasped at the splendour of St John’s Co-Cathedral. Valletta more than lived up to its reputation as a world-class city, Fontanella’s in Mdina served up a pizza to die for, we’ve happily gambled – and lost – (a little) money at the Dragonara Casino and we’ve just enjoyed wandering around looking at everything and learning about Malta’s history, culture and way of life.

The staff at the Corinthia Marina Hotel has been helpful and knowledgeable and, most importantly, welcoming, and have been absolutely fantastic. Joseph gave us wonderful information about places to visit and tours to take and we gratefully followed his advice.

We’ve enjoyed meals at Andrews Bar by St George’s Bay, riding on Malta Sightseeing buses and joining the crowds on the No. 12 Valletta bus.

Everyone we’ve encountered has been friendly, helpful and, again, welcoming to these two Scottish travellers.

Our only regret is that we have to leave so soon. Please know that two very happy visitors look forward to returning soon and extend a very heartfelt “thank you” to the people of Malta for the warm welcome.
