Drama company Teatru Rjal keeps its appointment with its audience this Christmas with the pantomime Rapunzel u s-Siġra tal-Fażola, (Jack and the Beanstalk)
“Most members of the audience will have read the story of Rapunzel and that of Jack and the Beanstalk, but there is a connection between the two to be revealed in the pantomime, which this year takes the audience to a small village where everyone knows everyone,” says producer Pawlu Testa. “A novelty this year is that the pantomime has two dames, Josefa (Toni Busuttil) and Simona (Snits) who attended the same school when young but never met after.”
Also taking part are Simon Curmi, Ina Robinich, Brian Farrrugia, Ian Fenech, Julie Pomorski, Dominic Cini, Jeffrey Scicluna, Laura Bruno, Bernice Darmanin, Pawlu Bonello, Graz Farrugia, Rhea Chetcuti, Neil Grima, Sadie Muscat, Maria Borg and Ismael Bonello. The panto is directed by Ray Abdilla, while choreography is by Kinetic Dance Studio. The live band will be directed by Abigail Brown, while the script is by Toni Busuttil.
