Two Syrians bound for Malta were arrested at Bergamo airport as they went through security checks.

Italian media reported that the men, 19 and 30, were carrying Austrian and Norwegian passports, respectively, but could only speak Arabic. On further investigation, the phone of one was found to have images of men in war poses, aerial bombardments, and one of a youth resembling the phone’s owner carrying a gun.

The men have been jailed and their belongings confiscated for further investigation into links with IS.
