New Labour MEP Marlene Mizzi has been appointed vice president of the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee in the European Parliament, succeeding Edward Scicluna.

The Labour Party said that the other new Labour MEP, Claudette Abela Baldacchino, was a member of the Internal Market and Consumer Affairs Committee.

The two MEPs will also be following the Committee for the Environment and the Budgets Committee as substitutes.

Labour has not announced yet its new head of delegation in Brussels, who will replace Louis Grech.
