Two Libyan men were yesterday accused of importing 20,000 ecstasy pills and almost 400 grams of cocaine in the false bottom of a suitcase.

Haitem Nassreddin Abu Rawin, 22, and Hannibal Mohammed Al Magrouk, 21, both of Tripoli, were stopped at the airport on their arrival from Brussels on Monday.

They pleaded not guilty to conspiring to import the drugs and to trafficking.

Mr Abu Rawin also denied being in possession of the drugs in circumstances denoting it was not for his exclusive use.

Legal aid lawyer Martin Fenech requested bail but the magistrate refused, also freezing the assets of both men.
