The Spanish group Trío Bacarisse is performing in Malta tonight as part of the Malta International Arts Festival.
The group will pay homage to Spanish composer Enrique Granados Campiña with a performance of his Trio in C Major Op. 5.
This year marks the 150th anniversary of Campiña’s birth. This pianist’s music is considered to represent Spanish nationalism and reproduces popular melodies while combining them with antique, traditional and modern sounds.
Trío Bacarisse will also interpret one of Felix Mendelssohn’s greatest and most popular works, Trio No. 1 in D Minor, Op. 49.
The concert is being held at Robert Samut Hall, Floriana, tonight at 9pm. Entrance is free. For more information about the festival, visit www.maltartsfestival.org.
