Fred Perry’s new collection for men looks back to the traditional sartorial elegance of the tennis club or sports club, and then infuses that inherent classicism with bright and breezy inspiration from English seaside resorts and naval traditions.

Classic tennis silhouettes are the natural starting point for all Fred Perry menswear. This season is no different; colours are strictly traditional and include navy, white, camel, ivy, green with accents in softer hues like pale pink and light smoke.

The tennis club aesthetic that launches spring/summer 2011 is complemented by a marine theme with nautical elements such as flags, Breton stripes and Guernsey knits.

Colours on the neutral side of navy – steel marl, Moroccan blue – are spiced up with modern fashion ‘dark’ brights, such as orange amber, aster and canary yellow.

As high summer approaches the focus turns to sun-bleached brights – a much bolder, more playful approach to colour and pattern with washed brights, madras checks, dip dyes and bold ginghams. Colours include panama pink, vibrant yellow, strawberry and turquoise.

The collection is available at Fred Perry store’s in Merchant Street, Valletta and St Anne’s Square, Sliema.
