The first Maltese business delegation to Libya since the war is set to leave for Tripoli on April 16 on a three-day trip led by Finance Minister Tonio Fenech and Small Business Minister Jason Azzopardi.

With a specific focus on ports and maritime services, the Malta Enterprise-organised delegation will help companies in these fields explore business and investment opportunities in post-war Libya. Aside from business meetings, delegation participants will also visit a number of Libyan ports.

Malta Enterprise executive chairman Alan Camilleri said they had received an overwhelming response to their call for interested parties, with over 450 companies expressing interest.

As a result, Malta Enterprise opted to hold a series of smaller delegations, each focusing on a specific sector.

Libyan officials also stand to gain from the initiative, with two separate seminars organised by Malta Enterprise and Transport Malta aimed at providing these officials with Maltese expertise.
