Flimkien għal Ambjent Aħjar (FAA) is organising a walking tour of Mdina led by Vincent Zammit tomorrow evening.

Mdina, also known as the Silent City and Città Notabile, is the medieval capital city of Malta. In the past it was the only fortified place that could offer some kind of refuge to the Maltese population.

The city passed through a number of lesser known sieges before the arrival of the Knights of St John. Even during the near three centuries of the Knights’ stay in Malta it continued to experience more sieges.

Walking along Mdina’s streets, participants in this tour will be able to better appreciate the city’s architectural heritage. They will also hear the stories behind some of the city’s buildings and its notable characters, events and visitors.

The FAA tour of Mdina will take place tomorrow evening. Participants will meet at 7pm at the city’s main entrance. For tickets, visit http://faa.org.mt .
