James Armeni of Lepo Garage, Naxxar, recently won first prize in the pre-war category of the Valletta Concours d’Elegance show of vintage and classic cars held in the capital’s St George’s Square last Sunday, with a 1929 Ford Model A Roadster 40-B. Armeni told The Sunday Times of Malta the car had been on display in a museum in Holland for several years, and that he bought it at an auction after the museum owner passed away. “As it had been stationary for a long time, in order to start it I had to do some work on the electrics but I managed to find all the parts I needed from local car parts shops and foreign suppliers.” He is pictured with his son next to the car.
