Olympic judo bronze medallist Charline Van Snick, of Belgium, holds up a document with results of recent controls during a news conference in Liege, yesterday. Van Snick has tested positive for cocaine but maintains she is innocent. According to Van Snick, the International Judo Federation informed her of a positive urine test taken around the time of the World Championships in Rio de Janeiro in August. “The news stunned me, because I am very careful with this. I have never taken any substance that can improve my performance... not intentionally anyway,” she said.
