Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi and opposition leader Joseph Muscat will go head to head to discuss Malta’s recent political developments during a national debate on February 8.

Titled ‘Is the Political Crisis Over?’, the conference will bring together politicians, businesses and NGOs to debate the next step in Malta’s political sphere after government MP Franco Debono abstained from a vote of no-confidence in Parliament presented by the opposition.

Is an early election, as demanded by the Labour Party and Alternattiva Demokratika, the only way to solve the uncertainty? Is it the right time to go to the polls? Should there be a change in government?

Hosted by Intercontinental Malta in St Julian’s, Times To Debate is the third in a quarterly series organised by The Times.

The discussion will take place at the Intercontinental Hotel in St George’s Bay on February 8, at 8.30 a.m., preceded by breakfast at 8 a.m. A limited number of seats are available.

All those interested in contributing to the debate may contact Nicola Busuttil at Intercontinental Malta on 2376 5771 or e-mail timestodebate@intercontinental.com.mt.

Bookings will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until Friday.
