Suppose (just bear with me, for a brief moment) that a decision were made right now to start work on a tunnel...

And suppose that by some miracle it became the first-ever project to be completed on time in Malta...

Years before we saw the light of the end of the tunnel, the ferries would be long past their best-before date.

May one ask whether there are plans to replace the existing fleet?

And if not, wouldn’t it be a good idea to start designing and building the first replacements now – so that instead of three vessels all becoming out of date at roughly the same time, there was actually a rolling changeover and renewal plan?
