What role does a watch play in a wardrobe?

A watch is just like any other accessory but of course functional as well asvisually appealing.

Does this role vary from a male to a female wardrobe?

Generally, a watch is morevisible on a woman, especially with evening wear. Yet ultimately you should wear a watch as you would wear a piece of jewellery: it should work with whatever you are wearing.

Should one choose a watch according to the occasion?

I believe both men and women who like to wear watches should have at least two. One should be an everyday watch that can be worn with pretty much any smart or casual outfit. The second watch would be for special occasions and more appropriate for an evening event.

How does a watch reflect its wearer’s lifestyle?

As with clothing, a watch can reflect or suggest a certain status and lifestyle. Certain watch labels, for instance, are synonymous with success and wealth, while others are worn by people who are active and practise sports.

Watches don’t change from one season to the other. Does this mean we should invest more money in a watch, since it will last for longer?

Some might consider a watch to be an investment, but only the best watches increase in value over time. You don’t necessarily need to invest more money but make sure you are getting something that will last and that won’t date so easily.

Do smart watches have the same fashion appeal as traditional watches?

All types of watches can have the same fashion appeal: it all depends on who is wearing them and how. There are different watches for different styles. A watch, like any other item in your wardrobe, is part of your personal style and should enhance your look.
