Children of all ages recently had a wonderful time at the Kitchen Garden in Attard as they were greeted by three giant mascots of the L-Istrina BOV Piggy Bank campaign.

Bank of Valletta teamed up with the Office of the President to organise an event full of fun activities for children to raise more awareness about the campaign while helping to raise additional funds.

At the same time, this event was a showcase of volunteerism at its best. Actors from Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna re-enacted episodes from Malta’s past and a team from ŻiguŻajg Arts Festival gave children a sneak peek of their shows.

Children visiting the Kitchen Garden attended face-painting and balloon-modelling sessions. They also joined a 20-minute tour of the Għorfa as well as walked one of the four-legged friends, residents at the Kitchen Garden itself.

President George Abela, accompanied by the bank’s CEO Charles Borg, visited the Kitchen Garden during the event. Both expressed their satisfaction at the overwhelming response of the public to the event and thanked the volunteers from the Malta Community Chest Fund and Bank of Valletta, whose joint efforts made this event possible.

L-Istrina BOV Piggy Bank will be celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
