Can somebody explain why they have installed two pedestrian crossings along Qui-Si-Sana Road that do not look like pedestrian crossings?

Instead of the format we are used to most, that is the one usually referred to as a “zebra crossing”, which is the format most motorists are familiar with, we have two lines of square “dots” some two metres apart, which is not very visible when approaching.

I live just above one of them and the close shaves I have seen over these last few weeks is too close for comfort. One of these days close will become unfortunately closer. Let’s prevent that by having proper pedestrian crossings.
