Despite all the sophisticated equipment available to the military forces teeming around Malta, no one knows what caused the sound heard around the cliffs of Dingli on June 12.

I have my own theory. Please keep in mind that from my laptop I, humble I, can observe my daughter’s door in the heart of London.

I believe that the noise was created by the drummer of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra rehearsing for the exquisite performance of the Carmina Burana, which was presented on July 23 at the Mediterranean Conference Centre.

What a rendering!

I ask the US Embassy not to go and tell this to the Marines.
