I refer to a press release by Luxol Basketball Club titled ‘New Luxol registration’ in which they claimed they are the oldest club on the island.

In fact, this honour falls on Athleta Basketball Club, which has been a pioneer member of the Malta Basketball Association since 1964.

Luxol took part in the following season after poaching most of Athleta’s players.
