As the roads of Gozo are gradually brought into the 21st century, there is one part of the Xagħra to Ramla road that is stuck firmly in the Middle Ages.

The road from Ramla to Nadur is now almost perfect and the road from Xagħra to the bottom of the hill is as smooth as a billiard table. However, bus drivers, motorists and cyclists all dread the one-kilometre stretch from the bottom of the hill to the entrance to the Marsovin Estate where the road joins the smooth surface from the beach to Nadur.

It is paved (loosely speaking) with a trillion blobs of tarmac and an equal number of potholes and is quite the worst regularly used stretch of road in these islands.

Come on Ministry for Gozo, make this your next priority project.
