It is, and was always, obvious that Andrew Borg Cardona (see his blog of the day) did, and still does not, like the late Dom Mintoff. And, undeniably, there are many like him. For Dr Borg Cardona of course the old wise Latin dictum of de mortis nihil dixit sed bonum (of the dead only the good should be said) is a worthless concept, bereft of any wisdom. Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi obviously is also one of those who simply does not agree with Dr Borg Cardona (vide his immediate offer of a state funeral).

But, Dr Borg Cardona or not, there is one thing that cannot be denied. When, henceforth, any attempt at writing the history of post-war Malta comes to be made, it will have to be essentially based, built, and written around three people: Mr Mintoff, George Borg Olivier, and Archbishop Michael Gonzi. No honest scholar, or observer of the truth, will deny that. It is simply so obvious.
