So much coverage was given to the Games of the Small States of Europe on the media and splashed on almost all the sports pages... fair enough. Malta did well and any sports lover followed every detail. But why was there no coverage, not even a mention, of the Coji-Jeux des Iles games held in Palermo the week before? Not that Malta fared badly. We won two silver medals in swimming and also did well in athletics and gymnastics. I can just imagine the disappointment of the participants being ignored. It must be so discouraging for them, especially the young ones who expect at least to be noticed!

The journalists might not have joined the group in Palermo for financial reasons but what about the Malta Olympic Committee? Surely they could have at least posted the results to the local media for us to follow.
