To celebrate the 10th anniversary since the sword and sandal epic Troy was filmed on the Maltese islands, Euro Media Forum, Palazzo de Piro and the Malta Film Commission are presenting a discussion that will delve behind the scenes, into the filming of the film.

The event will feature speaker Winston Azzopardi, the producer of Troy.

Moderated by Justin Camilleri, the discussion will focus on why Malta was chosen as a film location, as well as on the ripple effect of the filming of Troy on the Maltese economy.

The discussion will also focus on how the city of Troy was recreated in various Maltese localities and in other countries, and how this film became an instant blockbuster acclaimed by critics and audiences alike.

Directed by Wolfgang Petersen, Troy stars Brad Pitt, Orlando Bloom, Eric Bana, Diane Kruger and Peter O’Toole. It is an adapt-ation of Homer’s great epic and it follows the assault on Troy by the united Greek forces and chronicles the fates of the men and women who are involved.

The speaker promises an interesting debate on the film-making process and this is open for anyone who would like to get into the film industry. The audience is invited to participate and put forward to the panel their questions, curiosities and observations.

To spice up the evening there will also be a massive Troy film quiz, with the opportunity to win prizes.
