Martin Scicluna’s article on public speaking made interesting reading and I congratulate the young Gozitan students who made a good impression on him.

Scicluna and I went to the same college and I recall that we used to have debates on various subjects. It was not the subject which was the main scope of the debate but rather the opportunity for students to participate in public speaking.

Perhaps debates could be introduced in all schools to encourage young students to practice the art of public speaking which will certainly serve them well in their adult life and their future careers.
