This letter will most probably fall on deaf ears as previous letters on the infamous “Valletta only” car lane in Msida.

I do not see the scope of this car lane as it is practically never used, although traffic through it is on the increase, not to go to Valletta but to turn into Rue D’Argens.

I have not seen a warden or policeman near the police station to book offenders who insist on using this car lane illegally. I am sure the wardens and policemen could easily reach their quota of bookings if stationed there.

If the authorities do not know this then truly they are living on another planet. This lack of enforcement leads me to believe that they are willing to turn a blind eye to this infringement. If this is the case then the “Valletta only” sign should be removed immediately and let all traffic use it.

Otherwise, may I suggest that either they station a warden or policeman there to book offenders or, if this is too expensive, they should place bollards on the dotted white lines right up to the zebra crossing so that no car can turn into Rue D’Argens.

I hope the authorities wake up and take action one way or the other.
