Let us occupy a little space in your paper in order to thank the members of the Sliema Band who on Saturday executed a fantastic concert conducted by the very gifted Ronnie Debattista. This was their annual “celebrity concert for Europe”.

The band is utterly professional and their sound must be one of the finest on the island. The excerpts they played were a mixture of classical and popular and they were executed to perfection. Of course the evening was made even more wonderful by the participation of tenor Ludwig Galea and soprano Karen Camilleri who regaled us with beautiful songs and duets. Both are very gifted singers.

Thank you Sliema Band for bringing us such a high class of music every year and we hope this will last forever.
