The Constitution in a country is there for all citizens and not only for Catholics or Christians. Those who do not practise the Catholic religion have a right to live their lives to the full in a free country, as long as they are not harming others.

Why is it that of all issues, Nationalist conservatives such as Tonio Fenech choose to belittle the rights of gay people? No wonder the Nationalist Party lost two consecutive elections.

In today’s world there is no place for conservatives who stick to their guns without any consideration for people who have the right to love and be loved as they were created by their creator.

Gay people are fully responsible to lead their own life and have a right to do so without being judged by people who imagine that their place is reserved in heaven by right, because they are Christians.

The country needs to have leaders who understand the changing human needs of the whole society not just of Christians or Catholics. It is a shame that gays are looked upon as a different and inferior species who can only have a trickle of their rights if the ‘normal’ species decide to allow them to.  Fortunately, nowadays animals have rights. So should gays and even more so because they are humans with feelings, values and rights just like every other citizen.
