I would like to reply to Ramon Casha’s letter ‘A moment of happiness’, (The Sunday Times of Malta, April 27). The appreciation of the family consisting of a husband and wife, with or without children, needs to be shown to Christian families in Malta today. These families enjoy the presence of God who united them together through the celebration of marriage in the presence of the minister of the Church.
Thanks to Christian families, Maltese society benefits from their fidelity to the marriage bond lived in accordance with the ‘new commandment’ of love and addressed especially to the education of their children, helping them to grow in wisdom, age and in love of God.
The State and the Church have the obligation to promote the Christian family and its social life.
