The film industry yielded €105 million over the past four years and contributed to job creation, Finance Minister Tonio Fenech said. He said 65 productions, such as Brad Pitt’s upcoming blockbuster World War Z, had been shot in Malta during this period.

Mr Fenech made his comments earlier this week as he toured the facilities of Movie People Malta, a company founded by two Maltese with co-investment by Italian businesses. The company services the film industry.

The film industry had created business for hotels, transport and logistics companies, catering establishments, costume-makers and film set builders, the minister said.
