German techno producer Alexander Kowalski is giving a full live performance in an event presented by Interstellar.

Kowalski belongs to the generation of German techno producers who were strongly affected by the social upheaval following the fall of the Berlin Wall and by the enormous sense of freedom in East Berlin.

Like many of his peers, including Modeselektor, Marcel Dettmann, Apparat and Paul Kalkbrenner, Kowalski came from the former East Germany. In spite of the tough political climate, he took his first baby steps in the Berlin underground some 15 years ago, and today is an internationally sought-after producer, live act, DJ and successful label owner with an impressive discography.

His albums Echoes, Progress, Response and Changes all document the notable musical development of an artist who consistently enriches the landscape of techno music.

From the earliest stages of his career, Kowalski acquired a reputation as an exceptional live act, also thanks to his ability to create epic breaks in order to savour the interaction with the audience. Kowalski has also founded his own label, Damage Music Berlin.

Alexander Kowalski performs on Saturday at Liquid Club, San Ġwann. He will be supported by N.d Flux [live], Manthrax, Decibel and Punisher.
