The momentum is building consistently for the Malta League as the team formation phase is quickly coming to a close. Sponsored by Fantasy Tours, the competition is even more exciting with four free flights to Corfu up for grabs.
During the last few weeks there has been frantic movement by team captains who were busy recruiting the best possible players for their respective sides.
Last year’s winners, Blunder Busters, have attempted to bolster their chances of maintaining their position by adding Ovidiu Alexa on the 4th board.
The Immortals, captained by John Richards, have also somewhat strengthened their team with the arrivals of young and promising players Jamie Farrugia and Luca Vassallo.
The Surrealists and GM Squad, last year’s runners-up, have also recruited new talent.
The league will feature new teams such as Black Tigers, who have added Malta Open 2012 winner, GM Bartolomej Heberla, with the aim to mount a stern challenge for the top spots.
Stella Maris College will be hosting the event.
