More than €77,000 has been allocated to 29 school projects promoting entrepreneurship since January, Competition Minister Jason Azzopardi said.

The funds fell under the Entrepreneurship through Education scheme launched by the Government during the 2011 Budget, he said.

Dr Azzopardi spoke during a European Commission and Young Enterprise event marking a week dedicated to small and medium sized businesses.

“The ideas and energy of these students are the engine of tomorrow’s economy,” he said as he thanked the Young Enterprise organisation for its work.
