Frustration over traffic congestion in the Tarxien area reached boiling point during a local council special event, with Arriva bus drivers trying to use alternative routes.
They were unable to use Paola Road, so they were practically stuck in Tarxien. One driver stated that it took him over 45 minutes to get from Tarxien to Valletta.
Traffic congestion is an excellent economic indicator, telling us whether people are going to work and consumers are spending money.
Everyone has experienced traffic congestion and everyone has been bothered by it. Some of the causes of traffic congestion are recurring, others are not, but most are preventable.
I am sure that better communication at all levels can help overcome these problems.
