Transport Minister Joe Mizzi welcomed the turnout for the first of a series of cultural talks raising awareness about Cottonera.

Maritime Museum curator Liam Gauci spoke about the corsairs, their contribution and their presence in the Three Cities, on Sunday in Senglea.

The second talk, about the area’s maritime history, will be held at Villa Bighi in Kalkara, on February 22, and the third, about the impact of World War II, at the Maritime Museum, on March 29.

The final talk, on April 26, will be held at Dock One and will focus on the rehabilitative projects being carried out on the area’s heritage.

The talks are organised by the Transport Ministry in collaboration with the Cottonera Rehabilitation Committee and the Rehabilitation Project Office.
