A symposium on the value of national heritage is being organised tomorrow by the History of Art and Fine Arts’ Students Association (HoASA) together with Flimkien għal Ambjent Aħjar.

This event aims to bring awareness to students, academics, the public and the media about the lack of cultural appreciation in the Maltese islands while also assessing its value. The symposium will be addressed by Conrad Thake, Giuseppe Schembri Bonaci, Andrew Narworld and Giulia Privitelli, together with the HoASA.

They will respectively talk about architectural preservation, the assessment of the importance given to modern and contemporary works of art in Malta, the economic value of artistic heritage and the neglect of works of art in the Maltese islands.

Following their presentations, an open-mic debate will be held where anyone who wishes may voice their opinions.

■ The symposium is being held tomorrow at the Orpheum Theatre in Gżira at 6pm. It is being organised with the support of Department of History of Art of the University of Malta. A reception will conclude the event. For tickets, visit ticketengine.faa.org.mt. For more information, call 2010 6428 or visit http://faa.org.mt . Seating is limited.
