Swieqi, with some 9,000 residents, had a sub-post office until about a year ago, when it was closed down. Could Maltapost now kindly consider setting up an alternative post office for Swieqi and Ta’ l-Ibraġ?

A branch post office is being suggested at this stage.

As it is, Swieqi residents now have to make use of postal services either at the Lombard Bank branch in Paceville, with odd opening hours and difficult parking, or up the steep hill to San Ġwann, which is served by a branch and a sub-post office.

All three can be inconvenient and not within easy reach for people living in Swieqi.

Let us hope that this request will be seriously considered in the interest of an efficient postal and philatelic service.
