A disgruntled neighbour living next door to a supermarket has filed a judicial protest claiming that even though the planning authority had issued enforcement notices against the owners nothing had been done for 14 years. John Cordina, who lives right beside Scotts supermarket in Żabbar, which was formerly Pirella supermarket, filed the protest against the Malta Environment and Planning Authority, the Prime Minister and Pirella.

Mr Cordina said a number of enforcement notices had been issued in relation to the building and there were even two pending appeals before Mepa for the extension of garages at the site. Despite the existing illegalities inside the building, Mepa had not done anything about the situation in 14 years, Mr Cordina said.
