The Supercoppa clash between Juventus and Lazio will be played in Italy on August 18, but the Lega Serie A is yet to confirm a venue.

Three of the last four Serie A curtain-raisers have been played in Beijing, but Lega president Maurizio Beretta has revealed champions Juve will meet Coppa Italia winners Lazio on the Italian peninsula six days before the season begins on August 24.

He said: “I can say that it is pretty obvious the Supercoppa will be played in Italy on August 18, because the window of opportunity is very small. But the venue has not been established and I hope we can find a mutually convenient solution.”

The San Siro – a neutral option for this year’s finalists – was the most recent Italian stadium to host the Supercoppa final in 2010.
